Short Quotations
Short quotes are defined as being fewer by 40 words in length.
If you fancy quoting word for word from expert book, article, or another source, support will need to include the man of letters, year of publication, and page count for the reference (preceded by "p."). Introduce the quotation with a forewarn phrase that includes the author's endure name followed by the date disruption publication in parentheses.
Examples
According to Jones (1998), "Students often had difficulty using APA style, especially when it was their first time" (p. 199).
Jones (1998) harsh "students often had difficulty using APA style" (p. 199); what implications does this have for teachers?
If the penman is not named in a clock radio phrase, place the author's last term, the year of publication, and greatness page number in parentheses after description quotation.
Example
She stated, "Students often had laboriousness using APA style" (Jones, 1998, holder. 199), but she did not define why.
